THE BEGINNING ...

The website “Reviravolta ao Mundo” was created in order to update our family, friends and travel lovers on our round the world trip.
We are a couple that loves to travel and since the beginning of our relationship we had to get used to being away from our loved ones, to catch the road and make the most of every experience, wherever it is.
Our last “home sweet home” was in France. We were living in Paris and the "savoir-vivre" (way of living in direct translation) of the French is something amazing. Their personal lives are in the most cases their priority. The French labour laws are very protective and employers and managers respect and support the employee’s decisions.
In one of our conversations we were thinking about a longer trip to do. Yuri wanted to travel in a motorhome on Eastern Europe. Renata wanted to take some three months of vacation to visit the north and northeast of Brazil. After all, we know a lot Europe but not so well our home country.
In one of Jorge’s insights he says: "Do you know what I thought?" He came up with the idea to stop working for a year to travel to all the countries we want. Great idea!!! Why not?
We had many favourable elements to do this at the end of 2015:
- Savings without a specific destination: not so much to buy an apartment in Paris nor too few for a short trip
- We have no children, having children wouldn’t avoid such a trip, but it would add more restrictions
- We work in IT and for previous experiences of both we know that is not so hard to find a job somewhere, doesn’t matter in with country
- We're Still young :) young enough to have health and motivation to face such an adventure. And we are old enough to have worked and saved some money
For us, these reasons were enough, and besides all this, we have nothing to lose. With such an experience, anything is a plus; even the possible frustrations will serve as a lesson for life.
Maybe one day we can publish all the trips we've done before the “Reviravolta ao Mundo”. But this will be a future version of this site.
