Laos was a country that we didn’t know much about. It was interesting to see and know the main tourist cities.
We just visited the “traditional” tourist routes, so we didn’t fully experience the country as it is. But we don’t regret and it is a country where we might go back to know better.
What we felt is that they have adapted many things for tourism, then what they offer in most of the cities we’ve visited is standard: a choice of sandwiches and "shakes" (natural juices, as it is in Thailand). The kiosks are one beside the other, offering the same things and at the same prices. Each day we went to a different one to balance the sales :) The sandwiches are mini baguettes, heritage of French colonization. It was very good, but every day the same food is a too much. When we wanted to change or eat food from Laos, which were mainly noodle soup (noodles), fried rice and noodles, much like Thailand. Also we ate many cut fruits in all Asia. Delicious! In the capital, Vientiane, we found most diversified food and restaurants.

We mainly used mini buses or vans to go from a city to the other. In the villages we used to rent bicycles or motor bicycles.
Laos is a mountainous country, so some roads are very dangerous, not only for the curves but also the conditions. So we only use the motor bicycles in the cities or villages. The landscapes are gorgeous.

Our route in Laos was: Pakbeng -> Luang Prabang -> Vang Vieng -> Vientianne

We missed visit the north and other areas less explored by tourism. Anyway it was interesting to discover this country.
