Calcutta - India

Calcutta was the seventeenth stop the “Reviravolta ao Mundo”. There is not much to write about Calcutta. We had already seen in some websites that Calcutta had nothing to do, so we took a hotel outside the center and close to the airport because we would catch a plane to Thailand.

We agreed that if in the way from the train station to the hotel we saw something interesting, we could go back to visit. We crossed the city and what we saw was so ugly that even our hotel being in the middle of nowhere, we decided to stay there until our flight without doing almost anything. :(

In Calcutta we said goodbye to India. A sentence that could define India for us is “a lot”... A lot of people, a lot of dirt, a lot of noise, a lot of pollution, but they are not only bad things. It also has a lot of tradition, many differences, a lot of sympathy, lots of good food, many beautiful landscapes and lots of spices. Summarizing is an amazing country, but tourists have to be prepared, because the shock is huge when you don’t know what to expect.
