Bangalore was the eleventh stop of “Reviravolta ao Mundo”. We went to Bangalore just to get the plane to New Delhi, but as we arrived early in the morning and our flight to New Delhi was at night, then we take the opportunity to know the city.
Bangalore is the third largest city in India and were an opportunity for us to know our first big Indian city. This means that the noise, pollution and crazy traffic that are normal in any Indian city would be much worse than we had ever faced.
As we had nothing scheduled to Bangalore, we follow some recommendations that we found on Internet. Then, we walked to the Cubbon Park from the train station. The park was 3 km far from the station but it was a real challenge! It had not always sidewalk and when it was there, we had to share the space with people, animals (dogs, pigs, cows), garbage, shit (not always of animals) and a constant smell of urine. After the challenge, we got to the park and it really worth. Besides being beautiful is a moment of tranquillity in the middle of Bangalore chaos.
After relaxing in the park we ended up going to the flower’s street, which is the street that concentrates the Bangalore trade. Even being a Sunday, it was very busy, with almost all shops open and lots of interesting things to discover.
A day that seemed to be "lost" turned out to be a very interesting day and it was pretty cool to have passed this day in Bangalore.
What “Reviravolta ao Mundo” recommends:
- Bangalore has many parks, so every time the urban chaos disturbs you, get inside a park and spend few minutes
- The Bangalore shopping street is very interesting and it has every kind of things: delicious food, clothing, flowers, and trinkets. Take advantage of great prices and shop
