Zanzibar was the seventh stop of “Reviravolta ao Mundo”. Zanzibar is an island that belongs to Tanzania. Because of laziness and bad Internet, we didn’t consult on Google, I do not know why, we need to stamp the passport to enter as well the verification of the Yellow fever card (again). With its beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and blue tones, Zanzibar is the perfect place to rest after a safari trip.We arrived in Zanzibar and we went straight to a beach called Nguri, which is in the north of the island. We have anything to regretted. We stayed in a guesthouse rather simple, but facing the sea and away from the busy part of the beach so we could get plenty of rest. We planned to stay four days there, but we liked it so much we stayed 5 days instead. Also we did the laundry and work on our site. It was so hot in the afternoon that it was impossible to stay on the beach.
After 5 days of great beach and quietness, we went to Stone Town (Zanzibar capital). Stone Town is known for its spices, but we didn’t have time to visit a farm to see how it works. We were happy only visiting the city's markets. We also managed to find a restaurant that was not for tourists, one of the cheapest we found in Tanzania and with the best food: Rice, beans, manioc, cabbage and fried fish. Just like in Brazil.
Zanzibar was certainly a pleasant surprise of the trip, although the infrastructure problems as in Tanzania as a whole, we had a very good stay.
